About this template
Retro birthday video template that looks like a 90s home video tape, in widescreen 16:9 with a 4:3 picture between two dark pillars. Fifteen seconds of family footage cut hard on an 80s synth loop: party horns around the cake, kids placing the candles, the cake arriving to applause and the whole family cheering in paper hats. Katie and the tape are fictional.
The camcorder look is built from editable objects rather than baked into the clips. A blue "birthday tape" screen opens the video, PLAY and SP sit in the corners in a mono on-screen-display font, an amber date and time stamp marks the day, light tracking bands roll down the picture, a noise strip flickers along the bottom edge and colour glitch bars flash on every cut. Captions appear in black boxes like a VCR menu, a handwritten tape label runs up the left pillar and a vertical tape-position bar fills on the right.
Replace the clips with your own family videos, change the name, the date stamp and the captions, and share a nostalgic greeting for a child, a sibling or a friend born in the 80s or 90s.
