About this template
Editorial birthday template styled as a magazine cover, in a 4:5 portrait format for the Instagram and Facebook feed. Fifteen seconds of black-and-white footage cut on a minimal beat: a portrait with a small cake, a candle blown out in close-up, a quiet moment with the candle and a cake with a fountain candle. Nina and the magazine are fictional.
The name is the masthead in a tall high-contrast serif across the top, followed by an issue strip with the issue number, month and the price "priceless". Cover lines change with every cut like pages: a cover story, an inside feature, a pull quote and tonight's plan, each with a red marker, a serif headline and a small grey subline. A large red numeral shows the age, a block of bars imitates a barcode, the footer is signed by the editorial team, meaning the friends, and a thin red line along the bottom fills as the clip plays.
Swap in your own clips, put the birthday person's name on the masthead, set the age and rewrite the cover lines with inside jokes.
